FAQs
How should I prepare for this treatment?
Preparing your skin properly is essential for achieving optimal results and minimizing any potential side effects. 2 weeks before your treatment, it is important to prioritize sun protection! Use SPF 50+ daily, reapplying throughout the day, and avoid sunburns, tanning beds, and self-tanners. 3 days before, continue your usual skincare routine, but stop using any products containing active ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, retinol, and glycolic acid.
How do I care for my skin after this treatment?
Proper aftercare ensures optimal healing and helps you get the most out of your skin resurfacing treatment. Don't apply any makeup with tint (including tinted moisturizer) for the first 24 hours and steer clear of activities causing intense sweating for the first 24-48 hours after the treatment. In the evening, you can resume your normal skincare routine, but without active ingredients (such as retinol and glycolic acid). Once the pinkness or sunburned look subsides (typically 3-7 days), you can resume your full skincare routine, including active ingredients. Remember, your skin will be extra sensitive, so consistent SPF 50+ is essential.
How long does Laser Peels take to heal?
The healing time after CO2 laser resurfacing can vary depending on the intensity of the treatment and the individual's skin type, but generally, the initial healing process takes about 1 to 2 weeks. During this time, patients may experience redness, swelling, and peeling. Complete healing and the full effects of the treatment, including skin tightening and texture improvements, can take up to several months as the skin continues to produce new collagen.
How many treatments do I need before I see a result?
Laser peels can be done either with or without mirconeedling treatments. Similar to microneedling, you will need 3-6 sessions to see proper results, however you will be able to see an improvement after just one session. Full results can be seen 12 weeks after the final treatment.
